Set to open Spring 2008
September 27, 2007 - The opening of “Goliath,” the ultimate inverted coaster, will add a powerful new dimension of thrill technology to an already astounding coaster line-up at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2008. Set to open in spring of 2008, “Goliath” will feature a unique radiating blue steel track and high-speed yellow, blue and orange trains that suspend riders from the coaster track.
Once aboard the unconventional suspended 28-passenger trains, the bottom drops out from beneath the riders and they soar out of the station four abreast to experience spine-tingling gravitational forces and the sensation of racing at 50 mph with nothing beneath their feet but earth and sky.
As riders race across the track, they climb skyward for 10 stories before literally flying up and over a heart-pounding vertical loop and into the ride of their lives! “Goliath,” which reaches 105 feet, gives riders the sensation of weightlessness as they race through a zero-gravity heartline spin. Riders will fly head-over-heels through five inversions, including seven-story loops and two additional corkscrews.
“Goliath” will be located in Los Festivales, and will provide a colorful and visually striking landmark as guests enter the park. At a cost of $15 million, the ride is manufactured by Bollinger & Mabillard, the Switzerland masters of innovative coaster design and the pre-eminent creator of inverted coasters.

February 28, 2007 - Tony Hawk’s Big Spin is coming right along! Red track can now be seen stretching out from behind Rockville High School, and the red and black are striking against the backdrop of the quarry walls.
Although it can’t be determined how complete the ride is at this date, it is obvious that they are working diligently and making great progress.
It is a very exciting time for Fiesta Texas, and for all park fans and guests who are anxiously awaiting their first “spin” on this new addition!
(The following photos were taken from a PUBLIC LOCATION near the park, using a digital camera with the focal range set in “digital zoom” [beyond “optical”). The photos were then cropped for better viewing. Due to distance from the site, use of digital zoom and cropping, the photos will appear “noisy”.)

February 20, 2007 - Tony Hawk’s Big Spin has begun to show signs of life! The black vertical supports can now be seen shooting up toward the sky, as a crane moves around the site working hard to get the pieces in place. It won’t be long now!!
(The following photos were taken from a PUBLIC LOCATION near the park, using a telephoto lens. They have been cropped for better viewing.)

In the above photo you can see the black supports to the right of Rockville High School. The crane can be seen at the immediate right of Rockville HS.

The supports in this photo are a bit obscure, but can still be seen. Look just to the left of the back of the Rockville HS building, just below what appears to be a white “spot” on the photo.

A slightly different angle shows supports poking up ‘through’ the palm trees to the left of Rockville HS.

Another angle of the black supports above Rockville High School’s brick building.

Dec. 6, 2006 – Six Flags Fiesta Texas announced today a new family-style attraction planned for 2007 that will leave riders spinning with delight. The new addition, Tony Hawk’s Big Spin, defies gravity just like Tony Hawk does with acrobatic spins on his skateboard; this coaster takes the spin to a whole new level as it takes the traditional roller coaster experience of lifts, drops and turns, and throws in a whole new twist.
Available to park guests when Fiesta Texas re-opens in March of 2007, Tony Hawk’s Big Spin will be visually impressive, designed to appear as a giant red-and-black skatepark. The ride offers a full extreme sports experience, with monitors in the queue lines displaying highlights of the history of action sports; a large spinning Tony Hawk figure crowning the ride; and Tony Hawk’s Big Spin merchandise available at the ride exit.
